How to have a Productive and Relaxing Weekend

how to have productive weekends

Every one of us is all excited about the weekends, isn’t it? Well, then how many of us actually enjoy it, and how many of us just lie on the bed and do nothing but waste it, and then regret it the next morning? Just saying, if you go for the second one, count me in. Even I was am that kind of a person who’s gonna lie on the couch all day and then regret it on Monday.

But, once upon a time while I was meditating (you know what they say about thinking – it’s like a sort of meditation), I realized that there actually are many ways to make my weekend productive AND relaxing. Also, I just got done with my exams, and now, I’m a free bird. So, I have a lot of time on my hands, and I am looking forward to relaxing and be productive at the same time. If you want to too, keep reading further!

  1. Try to complete everything beforehand

If possible, try to finish all your work before the weekend, so that you have a relaxing weekend, without any workload or stress. Try being quick in completing your pending reports, assignments, prep for the next week and all to have a good time this weekend.

2. Unplug to Reconnect!

Now, I know this is a very common thing, but it also matters a lot! All week we’ve got our noses two inches from the screen, and it is really tiring, both for your body as well as your mind. Giving yourself a break from gadgets this weekend can be one of the healthiest things you’ll do. Stay away from social media, your emails, your work, everything. Instead do something healthier, like…

3. Spending time with your family

Weekends are a very good opportunity for all of us to spend time with our family. Everyone is busy with work and studies and housework and all during the workdays, so this weekend, spend some quality time with your fam. You can play board games, play cards, maybe just gossip about your aunts and uncles. It’ll be fun

4. Read

I’ve mentioned it a zillion times, and I don’t mind doing it again at all. Reading can be a thing you want to pick up this weekend. You can slip into your pj’s, get a comfy chair, get some tea/coffee/juice, etc., pick a good book and enjoy! I swear you’ll be glad you did. Try to wake up a little early, like 8 or so, to enjoy it the most. If you wake up at noon and directly have your lunch, you would not even like to sit idle, only sleep. So, you might want to consider it. There are so many good books out there, so why don’t cha pick one up and read it!? (if you’re not into books, you might want to check this out – https://www.priyanshimehta.com/blog/10-books-for-book-haters/

5. Exercise

One of the things you can do this weekend is exercising. It may seem to be tiring, but it is very refreshing. Also, in March, mornings and evenings are suuuper cool and calm, and you’ll really like stepping out and exercising. Then again, if you don’t like exercising, you can go for a brisk walk or cycling. Trust me, I’ve been doing it, and it’s almost like you’re in a hill station cause the weather’s amazing, and cool winds felicitate your ride

6. Write

Just how exercise is good for the body, reading and writing is good for the brain. You can journal or write stories, articles, essays, poems, anything you like. Now for that, I recommend you wake up a little extra early because the atmosphere out there would be very pleasant and your mind will be at its peak, so you will experience a flash of ideas running through your mind. So, get your creative selves out and see what you come up with.

7. Sketch/Paint/Draw

If you prefer, you can take up your book and drawing tools and sketch/paint/draw anything that comes to your mind. This also is a very relaxing activity to calm yourselves and experience peace. You can draw mountains, falls, trees, rivers, literally anything you like. Let your inner artist come forward and create a masterpiece!

8. Skincare

One thing you can do this weekend is, in the afternoon, close all the curtains of your room, tidy up your bed, dip your feet in hot/warm water, and apply some face packs- maybe a sheet mask or homemade ones. For a professional-like feel, you can also play some calm, soothing music. I guarantee you; you’ll feel like you’re in heaven!! It will help a lot in relaxing you physically and mentally. Weekends will give you a good opportunity to pamper yourselves!

9. Catch up with your friends

This weekend, catch up with your friends! Why don’t y’all plan and meet up maybe in a restro or at someone’s place. I mean, it’s been a while since y’all last met (maybe) so you can get together and gossip, have snacks, fool around and enjoy! (obviously, take care of the current situation as well, )

10. Just- sit by the window

Seriously guys, this can be very relaxing- you know, just get some tea or coffee and sit by the window and gaze outside! Kind of an introspection session – you know! You can think about that and how that happened and how that was that and not this and how doing that could have changed that to this… basically happy thoughts… – know what I mean?

So, that’s about it guys. I hope it helped you. Make this weekend a happy one with your close ones and yourself. Try not to do it all at once, because we want to relax, and not rush. Do something you’re passionate about and enjoy. Also, tell me in the comments section how you liked this article and leave your valuable feedback. Thank you!

  1. First off I would like to say great blog! I had a quick
question that I’d like to ask if you do not mind.
I was curious to know how you center yourself and
clear your mind prior to writing. I have had trouble clearing my
mind in getting my ideas out there. I do take pleasure in writing however it just seems like the first 10 to
15 minutes tend to be lost simply just trying to figure out how to begin. Any recommendations or hints?
    Thanks!

    1. Hey there! Thank you so much for your compliment, you know it means a lot 😊😊
Now for your question, as for me, I do not really do anything to clear my mind or wait for ideas to start rolling in. Most of my articles are on daily observations, and it flashes me that I should write about it. I keep taking mental notes about the topic, and when I physically sit down to write it out, I usually begin with a greeting and ask some questions to the readers to make it more relatable. And then I just rummage for words to blurt it out. So it is better to not wait for topics, rather just write about miscellaneous things you observe.

Yeah so that’s basically my practice, hope it helps you, and if it doesn’t, feel free to ask me again, I’ll love to help you out.

      XOXO ❤❤
